Every pet lover knows that good animal care, and in particular the care for sick animals, requires special equipment and nutrition.
Maru-vet has been initiated by the owners of Marumoto Cavy Rescue, which is a shelter for sick and abandoned guinea pigs.
Through years of taking
care of sick and handicapped cavies we have gained experience in feeding and health care of small animals. We are eager to share this experience.
In the Maru-vet shop we offer special Marumoto formulae for feeding sick animals. The food is prepared keeping in mind the specific needs, desires and tastes of sick rabbits and rodents. Our stocks also include professional veterinary products, which are otherwise difficult
to access for many pet owners. Finally, you will find several items to pamper your pet.
Please, contact us if you wish to act as a reseller or distributor of Maru-vet products.
We hope that our products will improve the life of many animals.

Pets like Marumoto mixtures. Our guinea pigs prefer them over their favourite veggies.
We recommend occasional syringe feeding of healthy animals. The animals will associate the syringe with a tasty experience. In case of real emergency, both pet and owner will have some practice.
Syringe feeding.
Place the pet on your lap or on a table; try to make it feel comfortable. Always feed very slowly and carefully. Put the syringe behind the front teeth, so the pet can lick and swallow the food.
Never feed too much in at once and always check whether the animal swallows. For rabbits and guinea pigs we recommend 1 ml syringes, to avoid choking. When feeding for the first time or in very ill animals some mild pressure may be needed
to get the syringe into the mouth. However, you should not use force. Feeding is easier if somebody else holds and/or supports the animal.
Always try to find out why the animal stops eating by itself. Syringe feeding is a support, not a treatment of any illness.
